What it is

A treatment that applies controlled radio frequency energy to warm the tissue, used to support the appearance of skin firmness. It is used both on the body as part of a contouring course and on the face for firmness goals.

How it works

A handpiece warms the treatment area to a controlled temperature and holds it there while moving across the region. It feels like a warm massage. Sessions are done as a course.

Good fit for

  • Skin firmness goals on face or body
  • Use alongside cavitation and lipo laser in a contouring course
  • Anyone wanting a treatment with no downtime at all

Suitability is assessed individually at consultation. Some treatments are not appropriate for everyone.

Your treatment journey

  1. Consultation and, for body work, measurements and photographs.
  2. A course planned across a number of weeks.
  3. Sessions of 20 to 40 minutes per area.
  4. Review at the end of the course.

Results and what to expect

Firmness changes are gradual and build across a course. These treatments are intended to support body contouring goals alongside your own eating and activity habits. They are not a weight-loss method and they do not replace one. Results vary considerably between individuals.

Safety and common effects

Most people notice some of the following. They are temporary and expected rather than a problem:

  • Warmth and redness of the area for an hour or two
  • A sensation like a hot stone massage during treatment

Before you book. Suitability is assessed individually at consultation. Some treatments are not appropriate for everyone. Tell your practitioner about any medication, skin condition, allergy or recent treatment at consultation rather than on the day.

Aftercare

Drink water, keep the area moisturised, and use sun protection on any treated facial area.

Common questions

Is it painful?

No. Most people find it comfortable and describe it as a warm massage. Tell your practitioner if it becomes too hot.

Is there any downtime?

None. You can return to normal activity immediately.

How is it different from fibroblasting?

Radio frequency warms the tissue with no visible healing period; fibroblasting creates controlled points on the skin surface and has one to two weeks of visible crusting. They suit different goals and different tolerances for downtime.

How many sessions?

Ten-session courses are standard and are priced as a package.

Can it be used on the face?

Yes, for firmness goals. Your practitioner will advise whether it or another treatment fits better.
