What it is

A treatment that sets a lasting curl into your natural lashes so they lift upward and open the eye. Tinting is usually added so the lash tips, which are often much lighter than the base, become visible.

How it works

Lashes are set over a silicone shield in the shape and lift chosen for your eye. A solution softens the lash, a second sets the new shape, and tint is applied afterwards. Nothing is added to the lash — this is your own hair, reshaped.

Good fit for

  • Straight or downward-growing lashes
  • Anyone who wants an open-eye look without extensions or daily curling
  • Low-maintenance definition, including for holidays and swimming

Suitability is assessed individually at consultation. Some treatments are not appropriate for everyone.

Your treatment journey

  1. A short consultation about the lift level and tint shade you want.
  2. Lashes cleansed and set over the shield.
  3. Lifting and setting solutions applied and timed closely.
  4. Tint applied, then a nourishing finish.

Results and what to expect

The lift lasts through your natural lash cycle, typically six to eight weeks, fading gradually as lashes shed and regrow. The tint fades sooner, usually around four to five weeks.

Safety and common effects

Most people notice some of the following. They are temporary and expected rather than a problem:

  • Mild eye watering during the appointment
  • Lashes feeling stiff for the first day

Before you book. Suitability is assessed individually at consultation. Some treatments are not appropriate for everyone. Tell your practitioner about any medication, skin condition, allergy or recent treatment at consultation rather than on the day.

Aftercare

Keep lashes completely dry for 24 hours and avoid steam, saunas and oil-based products in that time. After that, treat them normally.

Common questions

How long does it last?

Six to eight weeks for the lift, following your natural lash cycle. The tint usually fades a little sooner.

Do I need a patch test?

Yes, for the tint. Allow at least 24 hours before your appointment — book the patch test well ahead of any event.

Can I wear mascara?

Yes, after the first 24 hours, though most people find they no longer need it.

Will it damage my lashes?

Performed correctly and not repeated too frequently, it should not. Leaving the full six to eight weeks between appointments matters.

Can I swim?

Yes, after the first 24 hours. This is one of the reasons people choose a lift over extensions.

Can I have it with lash extensions?

No. Extensions must be removed first, and a lift is generally done instead of extensions rather than alongside them.
